18 Month Check-Up

Just after our deer hunting weekend we had to take Hadley in for her 18 month appointment.  She is doing well, although she had a fever the day of her appt, so we had to take her in later in the week to get her shots.  Here are her stats:

Height:  32 1/4 inches
Weight:  24 lbs 1 oz

She is 48th percentile for her weight, 69th for her length, 87th for her head circumference - she still has a big head!! And she is 40th in weight for recumbent length.  She is doing well and she doesn't go in again until she is 2!!!!

West River Deer Hunt 2010

We went on our annual West River Deer hunt to Gregory County in November with the Graeb's.  We had asked Geno's parents if they would come up and watch Hadley, not thinking that they actually would come up but they did!!!  They came up on Thursday so we got to see them some and Geno and I left on Friday afternoon.  It was my first multiple nights (3) away from Hadley.  She had a blast with Grandma and Grandpa and so did the dogs!!  Geno and I got to hunt together since we didn't have to switch off with Hadley like the year prior.  We saw lots of deer but we were both wanting a bigger buck than the previous years.  The last day Geno got a doe.  Steph got a nice 10 pt buck the first day.  It was another great hunt minus not getting all the deer we wanted - but we had plenty of opportunity to shoot, just wasn't what we wanted.  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for watching Hadley!!!!

Trying on clothes and Tar's Birthday

Hadley loves putting on things like her or my clothes, as you can see here - she got my shirt on over her head and was walking around like this for a bit.

Sound asleep...we just love our Summer infant video monitor!

November 8th was Tar's 6th birthday.  We got him a large bone and we had to get Rainy a small one so she wouldn't feel left out.  So here they are posing before and after.

Jump shoot ducks and pheasant hunting

We decided since we hadn't been duck hunting yet that we would go down to the grasslands and see if we could jump shoot some ducks on some of the ponds there.  There wasn't much for ducks on the ponds...kind of in between when the resident ducks left and the other ones haven't been passing through yet but we did find some on a pond and Geno snuck up on them and ended getting two mallards - a greenhead and a hen.  Tar finally got to retrieve a duck in the water - he was a happy camper.  He was at the vet the day before and the vet said his ear was looking really good and that she thought that he should be able to go swimming as long as we watch his ear closely afterwards and clean it well etc.  So we let him get the duck and he loved it.  He even had to chase it down as it was diving so it was a longer retrieve for him.  Then Rainy got her chance at the other downed bird and got her first duck retrieve.  She was excited.  Hadley just LOVED it too...she was so excited and kept saying duck, duck!!!  We always ask her where the duck is in our house...as we have 2 mounted.  She loves ducks!!!!  After duck hunting we walked a few fields to see if we could get some pheasants...none this time but got a good walk in with the dogs.

Just look at the smile on Hadley's face...to cute!

Snacks while Momma is pheasant hunting.

Nickie in walking the field...no birds this time but had a nice walk with the dogs

Hadley liked tromping around in the grass.

Halloween

We trick or treated at Geno's office on Friday afternoon before Halloween.  Hadley...aka Elmo got to hang out with her buddy Jett.  The next day we went to La Framboise Island where they had a trick or treat in the park thing.  We saw a few of the other kids from her day care - Giles and Gracie that she got pictures with.  Also one with Smokey the Bear. She had fun and got some Halloween candy for Mama and Dada.  We carved a pumpkin too on that evening and Hadley enjoyed that also.  She liked digging it out with Dada.  Geno and I didn't get around to carving our pumpkins this year...we just had no motivation like in the past.  But we did this one for Hadley.  On Halloween night we just stayed home since it was pretty chilly out and since Hadley trick or treated the night before.  But her buddy Jett came over in his other costume to take some pictures.
